ABOUT THE LOCATION
I have booked a gorgeous, light-filled 3 bedroom location in Daylesford. Unfortunately, I can't guarantee that it will look exactly like the images.
As you can see, there are so many features to this property, both indoor and outdoor and we will be right on lake Daylesford - water nymph theme, anyone? - and near the Lake House upscale restaurant. We can definitely play with some of the decor items and you're welcome to dress things a little differently if they're a bit too grandma's curtains for you.
I do my best to ensure a degree of variation between shoots though you may end up with some similar shots to others. If your goal is to be unique, do your best to select outfits that are stand out pieces and feel free to bring along decor and props to help differentiate. Otherwise, I'm Melbourne based, so if you want to book your own location at any time outside of this tour, please see my usual Melbourne rates and packages.
It is a 90 minute trek from Melbourne to Daylesford, so as a peace offering for the non-morning people who book the 8am or 9:30am slots, we have 3 bedrooms so you and potentially your HMUA if you are hiring one are welcome to arrive the night before after 8pm to give you a chance to sleep in just a little more.
I recommend you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your shoot time to get organised and ready to go. If you are hiring an HMUA and want to get ready at the property, there are plenty of extra rooms so you may arrive up to 2 hours early with your HMUA and quickly and quietly disappear to one of the unused rooms in order to give the client before you privacy as they shoot - with exception for the first slot of the first day.
We will be shooting December so all of these slots will have daylight. Golden hour - weather permitting - will start at around 5-6pm and we should have until about 8pm in terms of enough light outdoors/in the sun room so I am potentially open to shooting later or extending those last slots of the day to 3 hours.
If you drive and are open to carpooling let me know and I can direct people who need a lift your way to coordinate. It would be very reasonable for you to ask for a monetary contribution for the convenience.
I always recommend bringing a friend/boyfriend/HMUA etc along to help out, but if you can't bring a friend, @InStudioAus on twitter has some great shoot assistant packages for you to consider. She is a fellow SW, a long-time close friend and is wonderful to work with.
Please note I require a 50% deposit to lock your shoot in.
